Presiding Elder-Richmond District
Rev. John Bright has been serving in ministry since 1993, with a call rooted in personal deliverance and a passion for helping others find freedom in Christ. His journey into ministry was shaped by more than 20 years of experience in deliverance counseling, walking with others as they encountered the freeing power of Jesus. Reflecting the heart of Christ’s mission to "set the captives free," John continues to be inspired by seeing followers of Jesus walk in radical freedom.
He was appointed as lead pastor of Laurel Hill Global Methodist Church in September 2023 and currently serves as Presiding Elder of the Richmond District in the Global Methodist Church of Virginia.
John is married to Lynn, and together they have four children and two grandsons. Whenever he has the chance, he enjoys fishing—both spiritually and literally.
His favorite scripture is John 8:36 (NET): “So if the Son sets you free, you will be really free.”
