“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” – Psalm 107:1
As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, our hearts overflow with gratitude for all that God is doing in and through the Virginia Conference of the Global Methodist Church. This year, we have witnessed His hand at work in powerful ways—reminders that the Gospel is alive and moving among us.
We give thanks for five new churches that have joined our conference, linking arms with brothers and sisters in Christ as we stand firm together in the truth of God’s Word. We celebrate the birth of one new church plant, a living testimony that God continues to call His people to step out in faith and bring light into new communities.

We rejoice in the arrival of twelve new clergy, men and women who have answered the call to shepherd, serve, and proclaim the good news of Jesus across Virginia. And we are humbled by the generosity of God’s people, who gave $44,759.33 for disaster relief, ensuring that those devastated by tragedy experienced both practical care and the love of Christ.
Each of these milestones is more than a number—it is a story of God’s faithfulness. Behind every new church, every new pastor, and every gift given are countless prayers, sacrifices, and acts of obedience. None of this could happen without each local church and every person who has chosen to serve, give, and believe that together we can accomplish far more for the Kingdom than we ever could alone.

Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3:6–7, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” As a conference, we plant and water in different ways—through mission, discipleship, generosity, and service—but it is God who brings the increase.
This Thanksgiving, we pause to honor Him, the One who is building His Church, the One who multiplies our efforts, the One who is making all things new. May we never lose sight that our strength comes not from strategy or numbers, but from the Spirit of the Living God who goes before us. Let us continue forward with hearts of gratitude, hands ready to serve, and eyes fixed on Jesus, knowing that the best is yet to come.
To God be the glory, great things He has done!
